The two critical steps are required in planning for our Common future:
Vision is first: a shared vision requires work to establish what we want, in a just and effective way, respecting the rights of others - both people and the natural world, our Trusteeship for our world, and the means for bringing our world into alignment with that Vision.
- Visioning Charettes are recommmended to find this common future. Author Paul Ray has described these and you may read a summary of this process HERE.
- The Sky Charter describes the vision of Trusteeship for a commonly-understood future, with an overview of this opportunity described HERE.
Designing the future then becomes possible. With our shared vision, we can describe and refine how to get to where we wish to go. We know what works, and here are some of them:
- Cool Communities: David Gershon and the Empowerment Institute provide the most striking proven results for greenhouse gas reductions, cost savings, energy savings - and more solid communities - as part of the COOL COMMUNITIES CAMPAIGN
- Low Carbon Diet: a 30-day plan to lose 5,000 pounds!
- Cool Brazil
- Cool Corporate Citizen
